From Bench to Bedside: What we Learned about Temperament and Anxiety, and How we Have Applied that to Intervention

Dr. Nathan Fox describes in this presentation the indicators and implications of children who exhibit signs of Behavioral Inhibition (BI) in infancy and early childhood. He delves into an outline of his team’s research, in which they have identified two cognitive processes that are key in BI diagnosis; attention to threat and error monitoring. Throughout the course of the presentation, the underlying neural correlates are presented, concluding with a discussion on how the data is used to develop novel intervention strategies for reduction of anxiety symptoms in children, including data on the efficacy of attention training.
