June 2011

Drs. Marsha Kline Pruett, from Smith College, and Kyle Pruett, Yale School of Medicine, review the latest research about family processes, stress and dysfunction, which provides a context for enhancing positive father involvement and co-parenting in at-risk families. Despite this information, evidence-based interventions with families are still scarce. The Supporting Father Involvement (SFI) project is an empirically proven program that combines fathers or couples groups, case management, and multiple-level assessment to strengthen fathers’ role in families and family outcomes.
