The past decade has seen an upsurge of research and empirical evidence related to developmental concerns and family matters. In this training document, participants learn about research related to brain plasticity, risk and resilience, early child adversity, and addiction. The material covered is knowledge-based in order to provide an overview of what is now known in these areas. After each topic area, discussion focuses on how the research relates to issues in family court that arise in decision-making, parenting-time disputes, and parenting evaluations.
