Seeking treatment for addiction is often more complex for physicians than it is for their patients. The presenters work from the premise that healthy doctors lead to healthier patients. They suggest a multi-disciplinary approach to physician healthcare that builds support around the physician and remediates issues of addiction early, before they affect the physician’s personal life and medical practice.
