Highlighting key speeches from the 2012 Early Brain & Biological Development Symposium, this summary video documents major speaking points and emphasizes the cross-disciplinary importance of sensitive phases in early childhood development. The Symposium looked at how early experiences affect development of executive function, the building of cognitive, emotional, and social capacities in young children, and the impact of depression on parenthood and families. This knowledge-mobilization event was an example of a method used in Alberta to bridge the science-policy-practice gap and improving health and societal outcomes for Albertans.
