Social Policy, Service Delivery, Brain Architecture
August 2012
Keray Henke discusses the parallel initiatives that Alberta Education has undertaken to transform the education system in our province. He explores the government's role in developing policy for the education system through the lens of how brain research is helping to build a system that incorporates the new information on how humans learn, and the need to adapt the curricula and teaching practice accordingly. He explains the challenge of establishing meaningful connections between pure research and policy within the education system, and the importance of creating these connections with the end goal of increasing success for all students.
