Val Crosby is the Executive Director of the High Level Toy Lending Library Society and oversees the Mackenzie Family Resource Network in Northern Alberta’s Treaty 8 region. Originally from Nova Scotia, she has lived and worked in northern communities for over 20 years and is passionate about representing northern perspectives in leadership, policy, and community practice conversations. Val joined the organization in 2007 and has worked in both frontline and leadership roles focused on family support, community capacity building, trauma-informed practice, and relational leadership. In 2026, she joined the Palix Foundation as a Community Engagement Coordinator for the High Level region. She holds a degree in Public Relations and has started a Master of Arts in Executive Leadership. Val has presented at conferences across Alberta on Indigenous engagement, allyship, leadership, and community wellbeing. She also chairs the High Level and Area Allyship Circle and is the owner of Refocus Yoga.
